INK Catalunya was founded in 1991 as a franchise of INK International (Holland) to offer a comprehensive range of language services for the Spanish market, using the network of over two hundred professionals at INK's offices across Europe.
In 1993, INK International was bought out by the US company R. R. Donnelley, although INK Catalunya remained independent (100% Spanish-owned). Since then, it has provided language services (translation, proofreading, interpreting, etc.) and related services both in Spain and abroad.
In 1996, INK Catalunya expanded its services to cover training in languages, office applications, and new translation and communication technologies.
Then, in 2000, INK Catalunya moved its offices to the centre of Barcelona (1,000 m2) and expanded its technological infrastructure (computing and telecommunications) so as to improve the service it could offer to clients.
Since 2001, INK Catalunya has played an active role in developing national and European R&D&I projects for education and language, both as developer and partner.
